By downloading, installing, or using the Rank & Retire mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users, including free tier users and paid subscribers.
Rank & Retire is a military career planning and retirement projection tool for members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces. The App allows users to model career tracks, project retirement pay, estimate TSP balances, and compare retirement outcomes across different career paths.
The App is available in two tiers: a free tier with access to one career track (with advertisements), and a paid subscription at $0.99 per month that unlocks up to ten simultaneous career tracks and removes advertisements.
The projections, estimates, and calculations produced by Rank & Retire are for informational and planning purposes only. They are not financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or tax advice. Results are mathematical projections based on inputs you provide and are not guarantees of future outcomes.
Military pay, retirement benefits, TSP rules, and government policies are subject to change. Rank & Retire uses pay tables and contribution rules current at the time of the app's last update, but we cannot guarantee all data reflects the most current official figures at any given moment.
Before making any financial or career decisions, consult a qualified financial advisor, your branch's retirement services officer (RSO), or other appropriate professional. The App is a planning aid — not a substitute for professional guidance.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that pay tables, contribution rates, and retirement system rules encoded in the App are accurate and current. However, we make no warranty, express or implied, that information is complete, accurate, or up to date.
Official information about military pay and retirement benefits is available from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) at dfas.mil and from your branch's personnel and finance offices. In the event of any discrepancy between the App and official sources, official sources govern.
The paid subscription is $0.99 per month, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. All billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms and policies.
Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. To cancel, manage your subscription through your device's App Store or Play Store settings. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple or Google directly.
You may use Rank & Retire for your own personal, non-commercial career planning. You agree not to:
— Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
— Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws
— Resell, sublicense, or commercialize the App or its outputs
— Attempt to interfere with the App's functionality or security
Rank & Retire, including its name, logo, design, code, and content, is the property of its developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any part of the App.
Pay tables sourced from DFAS are in the public domain. The App's compilation, presentation, and calculation logic built around that data are proprietary.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rank & Retire and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App — including financial decisions made based on App projections, errors in calculations, or interruption of service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App where practicable.
