Plain English summary: The personal information you enter — your career data, pay, projections, and settings — stays on your device. We never receive it, and we do not sell it. To support the app, we use third-party advertising and analytics services that collect device and usage data, including a device identifier that may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites. Sections 04 and 05 explain exactly what is collected and how to limit it.
Rank & Retire is an iOS application for military career planning and retirement projection. The app is built and supported by an individual active duty service member based in the United States. For privacy related questions, contact us at support@ranknretire.com.
The personal and financial information you enter into Rank & Retire stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of the following:
› Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
› Your military branch, rank, years of service, or service history
› Your pay, compensation, TSP contribution, or financial data
› Your retirement system selection or pension projections
› Any career track data you create within the app
This information is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party. We have no servers that receive, process, or retain it. The advertising and analytics data described in Section 04 is separate and never includes any of the information above.
Career tracks, projections, and settings you create are stored locally using standard on-device storage, subject to your operating system's data protection practices. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is deleted with it.
We do not have the ability to access, recover, or restore data stored on your device.
The free tier displays banner ads on the Dashboard and Track Builder screens. To serve those ads, measure performance, and diagnose crashes, the app includes third-party advertising and analytics services — Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase (including Firebase Crashlytics), and the Apple App Store ad network. These services collect the data described below. This matches the data disclosure shown on our App Store product page.
Data used to track you. The following may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies:
› Identifiers — Device ID (such as the advertising identifier)
Data collected but not linked to your identity. The following may be collected but is not tied to your name or the personal information you enter:
› Diagnostics — crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data
› Location — coarse (approximate) location
› Identifiers — Device ID
› Usage data — product interaction, advertising data, and other usage data
› Purchases — purchase history
This data is collected and processed by the third-party services named above under their own privacy policies, not ours. None of it includes the career, pay, or projection data covered in Section 02.
The data in Section 04 is used to display and measure ads, understand how the app is used, and identify crashes and performance problems so we can improve the app. We do not sell your data.
Limit ad tracking on iOS. Go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Tracking, and turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track." You can also turn off Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Apple Advertising, then Personalized Ads.
Remove ads. Once you buy the one-time unlock, banner ads are removed and the advertising collection that powers them no longer applies through our app. Limited diagnostics and analytics may still be collected to keep the app stable; you can minimize this using the iOS tracking controls above.
Rank & Retire is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of that platform is governed by Apple's privacy policy. The one time in app purchase is processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Rank & Retire is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us at support@ranknretire.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. If we materially change what data is collected or how it is used, we will update this policy and revise the "Last Updated" date above to reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
